Lesson Two
Benefits
The biggest benefit is being able to work with something I enjoy and have passion for. I have learned so much about different elements such as fabrics, silhouettes, stiches, and styles because of the variety of clothing I deal with. It also brings a great sense of pride to see the business growing and taking shape from just being an idea.
Struggles
Consistency is key. In the current climate there is so much information available to consumers and so many substitutes for your products. This then requires keeping consistent value provided, sourcing stock, crunching numbers all need to be maintained which can be a challenge.
Being in a niche market, the issues faced are a result of the fast pace of fashion and changing trends. If consumers are not up to date with the current understandings of retails and on trend buying, there can be a change in perception of your business and operations.
The initial target market was aimed at like-minded people, but as you operate your market directs you in some way. There is an idea of the intended target market the fashion styles are focused on, but the customers then soon become a part of your target market.
