Typing classes are a must – this really helps with the many hours of report writing you are required to complete. There are many online classes to help with this skill and in our current environment, a lot of activities are being completed by kids on computers.
You need to be PC literate, Google suite is a bonus as it is commonly used.
If you can complete an Honours Degree in your specialization that will help you become an established Teacher. Other short courses are great for learning about teaching and the education systems. Any focus orientated courses would help as well.
Teaching is an amazing job, but you must have a desire to teach. It’s hard work most of the time and there is a lot of admin that not many would understand – it’s not just 7-2!
