Lesson One
I am a Grade 3 teacher. I have a bachelor’s in education, specialising in the Foundation Phase. I studied through Unisa while interning for 4 years to gain experience. I have experience with DBE and ISASA curriculums. Currently, I oversee the English and Mathematics syllabus for my grade 3 class. I also do all the technical admin that is required – Not many understand the extra functions that go into a teaching role. I also have interests in robotics and coding too.
The industry I work in is very large as it caters for the entire countries schooling and education needs. I still consider myself a beginner as I have only been teaching for 5 years, however, the knowledge that I have gained puts me in good standing. The teaching and education industry is definitely considered as “experience is key”.
Our target market is aimed at parents of school going ages – with mine focusing on the Primary school group. Each grade has its own curriculum, trying to ensure the students are as educated as possible when they move to the next grade. The students who want good matric results will enroll in our school as we have a higher than average pass rate with extremely qualified and experienced teachers. There is also a strong heritage at our school that encourages previous students to send their kids here.
Which is next for students who successfully pass Grade 3?
